Oilers' Connor McDavid Makes Bold Statement on Stars Series

The Edmonton Oilers have been waiting for the past few days to learn who they will be facing in the Western Conference Final. They have now learned that it will be a rematch of last season, pitting them against the Dallas Stars.

The Oilers took down the Stars last year, so they will be looking to do more of the same here. But entering this series, the Oilers know that it won't be easy.

Edmonton has been great in the postseason on both sides of the ice, but the team also could improve the power play. Oilers star Connor McDavid understands this and spoke about it ahead of the series start.

"Special teams will need to get going here. Starts with the power play, it's gotta find a way to be a factor in this series & we will.", he said.

It seems as if McDavid is looking forward to the opportunity in front of the team. After losing in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final a year ago, this Oilers team has looked to be on a mission in the postseason.

The Stars will give them quite a challenge, but the Oilers have been able to overcome anything in their way so far. Edmonton went 1-2 against the Stars during the regular season, but the postseason is an entirely different animal.

The Oilers could be getting some big reinforcements back for the series, including goalie Calvin Pickard and defender Mattias Ekholm. Edmonton could use the boost, especially going up against this loaded Stars squad.

Game 1 between these two teams is set to start on Wednesday, May 21, at 8 p.m. ET.
