Oilers confirm healthy scratch, new lineup for first game after 4 Nations Break

The Edmonton Oilers took to the ice today for practice in Philadelphia to prepare for their first game after the 4 Nations Faceoff Break, with Matthew Savoie added to the lineup.

Savoie joined the team at practice in the last week, but the Oilers haven't made an official roster transaction yet to call him up.

Edmonton Oilers reveal lineup for first game back from Four Nations Faceoff

Oilers insider Bob Stauffer has confirmed from practice that Stuart Skinner will be tomorrow's starting goalie, and Matthew Savoie will make his debut with the team.

Savoie is a prospect with elite potential, and a player that's developed a 200 foot game in the AHL this season. It could be the beginning of a long career in Edmonton for Savoie.

The Edmonton Oilers took to social media to announce their expected lineup themselves, with Kasperi Kapanen coming out of the lineup as a healthy scratch.

Nuge - McDavid - Hyman
Savoie - Draisaitl - Podkolzin
Skinner - Janmark - Perry
Arvidsson - Henrique - Brown

Ekholm - Bouchard
Nurse - Klingberg
Kulak - Emberson

Skinner Pickard

McDavid will get back into the lineup right after the 4 Nations Faceoff without any rest, with the same going for Ekholm and Arvidsson.

Matthew Savoie will join the second line, while Viktor Arvidsson is the player being bumped down to the 4th line. The demotion comes as Arvidsson has been involved in some trade rumours.

Kasperi Kapanen coming out of the lineup is a tough choice after he's played quality hockey this season, but he is the player with the least defined role on the team. When Evander Kane comes back, another good player will come out - it's the consequences of a good roster.

While fans loved the 4 Nations Faceoff and McDavid's goal was an electric memory that will live on forever, Oilers fans will be hyped to get back to the regular season - and the campaign for a Stanley Cup.
