NY Giants offense takes another blow with key playmaker now doubtful vs. Seattle

With the NY Giants heading to Seattle this weekend, it's only fitting to say that when it rains, it pours for head man Brian Daboll. First, he delivered the news that Malik Nabers won't be able to play against the Seahawks due to the concussion he suffered against the Cowboys in Week 4. That's a massive blow for the aerial attack.

New York Giants v Washington Commanders

Now for the ground game, it's looking like the Giants are going to be without their starting running back. Veteran RB Devin Singletary has been trying to work his way back from a groin injury, which forced him to miss practice time. There was hope he'd be able to play, but he's been listed as doubtful for Week 5.

NY Giants RB Devin Singletary is now doubtful to face the Seahawks

When star RB Saquon Barkley left in free agency to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, general manager Joe Schoen brought Singletary in on a three-year deal. He's looked strong at times running the ball, posting 221 yards and two touchdowns. However, fumbles vs. the Commanders and Browns was brutal to see.

With Singletary now unlikely to suit up, rookie fifth-round pick Tyrone Tracy Jr. is expected to get the bulk of the carries on Sunday. Second-year RB Eric Gray will be in the mix too, but Tracy should be the one to get the most work.

Gray turned heads in the preseason against the Lions with his two touchdown runs, but outside of that, he hasn't quite been much of a playmaker for this team. Tracy has impressive wheels and solid hands catching the ball out of the backfield, which will need to be on full display against the Seahawks defense.

There's no way to sugarcoat things here for the Giants: the team has to post a win to try and salvage the season. Dropping to 1-4 would be a nightmare and set Daboll and Co. back even further. With both Nabers (ruled out) and Singletary likely missing this one, that 1-4 record feels like it will be hard to prevent.
