“Not As Of Today”: NY Jets Coach Still Holding On To Starting Aaron Rodgers Despite 3-Game Losing Streak

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has had some challenges this season. Not only did he have to deal with injury challenges, but the entire Jets was a mess and continues to be one so far this season. With these things considered, the Jets are not considering letting Rodgers rest on the bench—or at least, “not as of now.”

Following their fifth-in-a-row loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Rodgers completed only 21 of his 39 passes for 185 yards. This was the third game in a row where Rodgers failed to reach 200 yards.

Despite this, Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich is not considering putting Rodgers on the bench.

“Not as of today,” he said. When asked for more details on the decision, Ulbrich said he would have to review his film first.

The Jets began the season hopeful that they would be a strong contender for the Super Bowl, relying mostly on Aaron Rodgers, but the team was plagued with problems and challenges on all fronts that they currently stand at 3-9, and is set to be one of the worst performing teams this season.

Will Aaron Rodgers Stay on Jets for The 2025 Season?

One of the biggest burning questions surrounding Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets is whether he has a future with the team or not. Not only is Rodgers expected to have one of the worst seasons of his career with all-time low numbers, the problems that have plagued the Jets leadership may have a huge impact on his future with the team.

When asked earlier this November on whether he’d want to come back for the Jets next season, Rodgers was only able to give a vague reply. “I think so, yeah,” he said.

However, the question of whether the team would still want him back is yet to be addressed.

For one, the people who made his acquisition from the Green Bay Packers possible are no longer with the Jets. Not only are they no longer with the team, but they were fired and removed in perhaps one of the most dramatic ways that made headlines.

Former head coach Robert Saleh was fired on Week 5 in the middle of the season, and the team’s general manager was fired after Week 11. With that said, rumors had it that Jets owner Woody Johnson is putting Aaron Rodger’s future in the team in question, as he is expected to bring in new leadership as well.

Aaron Rodgers recently turned 41 and has played 20 seasons in the NFL so far. While he hasn’t given any specific date yet, the NFL legend has repeatedly talked about the possibility of retirement anytime soon.
