Nils Hoglander's Agent Gets Involved with the Vancouver Canucks

Vancouver Canucks forward Nils Hoglander could be a trade chip for Patrik Allvin this season as they look to make an addition or two before the deadline in March.

After a breakout campaign in 2023-24 which earned him a three-year contract extension, Vancouver Canucks forward Nils Hoglander has had a tough time trying to replicate that success this season, registering just five points (two goals, three assists) in 21 games.

Hoglander has discussed his struggles with Rick Tocchet a couple weeks back, but he still hasn't been able to find his groove.

During each of the Canucks' first three games of their current six-game road trip, Nils Hoglander has seen his ice time decrease quite drastically, including a season-low 7:40 during Tuesday's win over the Boston Bruins.

Canucks & Hoglander's agent trying to get him back on track

On Thursday morning, Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali shared in a post on X that Alain Roy, Hoglander's agent and the Vancouver Canucks are trying to do what they can to get the Swedish forward back on track amid a tough season.

He added that all sides want Nils Hoglander to be playing well and to have his confidence back, but it hasn't been easy to say the least.

It was certainly an interesting post from Rick Dhaliwal this morning and looked quite similar to one he shared back in January regarding Russian forward Andrei Kuzmenko amid his own struggles on the ice.

Just over three weeks after Dhaliwal's tweet regarding Andrei Kuzmenko, the Vancouver Canucks traded him to the Calgary Flames in a blockbuster deal that saw Patrik Allvin add Elias Lindholm.

We'll have to wait and see what this means for Nils Hoglander, but it wouldn't be surprising to see his name come up more in trade rumours and for him to potentially get a fresh start elsewhere before his three-year, $9 million contract kicks in ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
