The Las Vegas Raiders had a few surprises up their sleeves this offseason. Not only did they manage to swap an inexperienced head coach in Antonio Pierce for one of the NFL’s most experienced candidates in former Super Bowl winner Pete Carroll, they also finally found a new franchise quarterback by trading for Geno Smith.

However, the Raiders may not be done targeting impact additions to the roster. Their next move could involve another former Pro Bowl talent.

Now that the Las Vegas Raiders have their franchise quarterback, Geno Smith can begin recruiting some star talent to come play with him. Even though he’s just recently arrived in Vegas, Smith hasn’t wasted any time getting to work.

One of his recent workouts includes throwing to four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs this offseason. Stefon Diggs joined the Houston Texans via trade last offseason and recorded 496 yards and three touchdowns. But his season ended after eight games when he tore an ACL.

However, now Diggs is a free agent, and his market has been slow to develop. With Smith in Vegas, there’s a strong chance the quarterback-receiver tandem have discussed teaming up on the Raiders.

Diggs has been seen working out with multiple quarterbacks this offseason, so just because he’s been putting in some work with the Raiders quarterback, it doesn’t mean they’re guaranteed to pair up as teammates on an NFL field.
