NFL Legend Kurt Warner Can’t Believe Underrated Skill of Minnesota Vikings’ Justin Jefferson

A lot of fans are surprised to see the Minnesota Vikings start the 2024 season with a three game winning streak. This led NFL legend to praise wide receiver Justin Jefferson for how fast he has been on the field during the past few weeks.

The Vikings continued their impressive start to the season with a commanding 34-7 victory over the Houston Texans. Sam Darnold shone with four touchdown passes, equaling his career high, while the Vikings’ defense dominated, intercepting Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud twice and sacking him four times.

Jefferson energized the crowd with his play, catching a touchdown early in the game, while Darnold also connected with Aaron Jones and Jalen Nailor for scores. The Vikings’ defense, led by Jonathan Greenard, kept the Texans off balance, creating confusion that led to multiple pre-snap penalties against Houston.

Despite the Texans’ efforts, they struggled to find their rhythm, only scoring their first touchdown late in the third quarter through a pass to Cam Akers. Minnesota’s defense was relentless, forcing mistakes and capitalizing on them, exemplified by a quick interception that set up an early score.

Coach Kevin O’Connell praised his team’s performance, noting their resilience and the need to maintain this level of excellence. Darnold, who completed 17 of 28 passes for 181 yards without any turnovers, acknowledged the challenge of facing a defense as unpredictable as Minnesota’s.

The Vikings improved to 3-0, extending their all-time record against the Texans to 6-0. Meanwhile, the Texans fell to 2-1, struggling without key players like Joe Mixon. With this convincing win, the Vikings solidified their position as early contenders in the NFC North.

“I remember loving #JustinJefferson coming out but a lot ppl talked about his speed… I have no idea how fast he is but he plays faster than anyone in the league (right there with Tyreek – but that’s bc he’s super fast) & it’s why you can’t cover him!!! Game Speed > 40 Speed,” Warner tweeted.

Warner recently praised Jefferson, highlighting his impressive in-game speed. he noted that while Jefferson’s exact speed isn’t clear, he plays faster than most players in the league, making him difficult to cover. In a recent game, Jefferson contributed significantly with six catches for 81 yards and a touchdown, helping the Vikings to a 3-0 record.
