NFL Insider Drops Bombshell Report On Green Bay Packers, Jordan Love Contract Situation

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

Throughout the course of the 2024 NFL offseason, the Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love have been one of the top storylines. Will the Packers get a new deal done with their franchise quarterback before the season?

Other quarterbacks have gotten paid, with the most recent being Trevor Lawrence with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As more deals get done around the league, the price tag appears to be rising for the Packers. Love is going to get a massive extension after starting just one season. It’s a big risk, but it’s one that Green Bay seemingly has to take.

Recently, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter dropped a bombshell report on Love and the Packers. He doesn’t see Love signing for anything less than the five-year, $275 million deal that Lawrence received.

“I don’t think Jordan Love is taking less than Trevor Lawrence.”

Paying a one-year starter that kind of money is very dangerous. Just ask the New York Giants about their massive deal for Daniel Jones.

No one thinks that Love is the same kind of player as Jones. He’s much better and projects to have a superstar caliber career. However, Love did start off the 2023 season looking very rough.

When everything was said and done, Love did enough to lead the Green Bay Packers into the playoffs. He also powered them past the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round.

On the season, Love completed 64.2 percent of his pass attempts for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also picked up 247 yards and four more touchdowns on the ground

Those numbers explain why Love is worthy of such a big contract. He was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL during the second half of the 2023 season. Now, he’s expected to get paid like it.

While the Green Bay Packers are definitely playing a risky game by giving out such a big contract, they’re relatively locked into making a decision quickly. Love does look the part of a rising superstar.

Hopefully, the two sides can get a big long-term deal done and then the young quarterback develops even more and proves the franchise right for trusting so much in him.
