The Las Vegas Raiders have had a tough three years since their last playoff berth, where they ultimately lost to the Cincinnati Bengals. They have since had two head coaches and no playoff berths in three seasons. They are one of the worst teams in the NFL this year, if not the worst, as they can't even lose right.
They should have lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but instead lost that game and lost their No. 1 overall pick. Now, at 3-12 with the No. 6 pick, they are in deep trouble. They had a terrible season and may not even be able to get the franchise quarterback they so desperately need.
But, for the Raiders fans on one side of the head coach dilemma the Raiders find themselves in, there is news they will like.
Raiders could move on from coach
According to Sportskeeda, who is reporting that The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported, that Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce could be near the end of his tenure as the head coach for the team that he grew up a fan of.
Now, the fan base is pretty much split on whether the team should fire Pierce or not. Some believe he wasn't given a fair shot seeing as how the roster isn't very good. Some think that he's just not head coach material. And, you can make good cases for both sides.
But the fact is, and the truth is, that the Raiders have been in a head coach nightmare for almost 20 years now it feels like. That was their last playoff win, which was 20 years ago. So, they have to get their quarterback, and they have to get their head coach. It appears they could be moving on from AP soon.
And, who knows, maybe they give him another half-year like they did with Josh McDaniels. Depending on how this game against the New Orleans Saints goes, or even the one after that against the Los Angeles Chargers, we could see some major changes.
