NFL hits Kayvon Thibodeaux with news he doesn't want to hear ahead of Giants' Week 14 matchup

New York Giants defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, whose year isn't exactly going as well as many would've expected, just got hit with some news he certainly doesn't want to hear leading up to Week 14.

NFL hits Kayvon Thibodeaux with news he doesn't want to hear ahead of Giants' Week 14 matchup

The league is fining Thibodeaux $16,883 for an unnecessary roughness foul he committed late in the first half of the Giants' loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The play in question was a late hit on quarterback Cooper Rush. After beating backup left tackle Chuma Edoga with ease, Thibodeaux simply was a couple of steps late getting his hands on Rush, who had already gotten rid of the football.

The play didn't prove to be particularly costly for the Giants on the field, as the Cowboys punted shortly after the automatic first down.

This is Thibodeaux's second fine since joining the NFL as he received one last year for fighting against the Buffalo Bills.

While the Giants' defender is unlikely to appreciate the news of the league taking money out of his pockets, at least he can rest assured the money is being put to good use.

Every Saturday, the NFL is announcing its league-wide fines and amounts for penalties committed the previous week. The money collected by the league through player fines is "donated to the Professional Athletes Foundation to support Legends in need and the NFL Foundation to further support the health, safety and wellness of athletes across all levels, including youth football and the communities that support the game."
