NFL Free Agency Power Rankings - Bills Top 5?

The Buffalo Bills were just three points away from a Super Bowl appearance last season when they once again lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.

With a need to reinforce several positions, general manager Brandon Beane has gone about his business with aplomb. While most of that has seen the Bills retain the services of several key players in Khalil Shakir, Terrel Bernard, and Greg Rousseau, the additions of Joey Bosa and Joshua Palmer are good upgrades.

But is that enough to overcome their deficiencies in the playoffs last year? Granted, we still have the draft to come, but right now, the Bills still look like one of the best teams in the AFC.

And for Pro Football Focus, Buffalo comes in at No. 3 in their free agency power rankings.

"In a free-agent class lacking elite talent, the Bills prioritized securing their core contributors to long-term extensions," PFF writes. "Josh Allen, Greg Rousseau, Khalil Shakir and Terrel Bernard all signed new deals, ensuring the 2024 MVP has the supporting cast to continue leading Buffalo’s offense for years to come. While none of the additions are major needle movers individually, Buffalo assembled a strong group of role players to reinforce their roster."

Bosa will help with Buffalo's pass rush, which was nowhere to be seen against the Chiefs, but only if Joey can stay out of the treatment room.

As for Palmer, he offers a deep threat the Bills didn't have last season to complement the likes of Keon Coleman, Shakir, and Curtis Samuel as Josh Allen's receivers.

It has been a solid enough offseason for the Bills, with the priority being re-signing the homegrown talent, but the additions of Palmer and Bosa could be shrewd signings if they work out.

The Bills are at No.3 right now, but don't be surprised if they start to climb in 2025.
