The biggest trade rumors in the NFL surround All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams after he requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders. Now, many think they know what team he will end up with.
On Friday, he went to Instagram to post a photo of his story about poet Edgar Allen Poe. Of course, as many know, Poe’s story “The Raven” is where Baltimore got the inspiration for its team’s name.
Everyone is convinced that this was Adams, clearly stating that he either wants to end up with the Ravens or a trade to send him to Baltimore is already set up.
Other fans are left stumbling, trying to find connections to their team and Poe, though a few are obviously a stretch or meant to be a joke.
“Ravens. Ravens have entered the sweepstakes and they make the most sense for him to go,” said one comment.
“As we all know EAP was born in Boston, Massachusetts. So i don’t know why anyone would want that to happen but he’s clearly a Patriot,” said another.
“New Orleans, Baltimore, or NY. All have connections to E. A. P.” added a third.
“Everyone knows Poe lived in New York City from 1846-1849.. clearly a Jets tweet. Definitely Jets. Couldn’t be anyone else,” joked a fourth.
Of course, no moves have been made official, but everyone can expect a trade announcement to come very soon, no matter the team he lands with.
The Ravens Don’t Have A Lot Of Cap Space For Davante Adams
Baltimore has paid a lot of money to some of its key players over the recent years, including Marlon Humphrey and, of course, Lamar Jackson, who all have a cap hit over $20 million.
According to Spotract, the Ravens have just over $4 million in cap space which is not enough to accommodate Adam’s $28 million yearly salary.
Of course, though, there are a lot of different ways for them to bend the cap to their will if needed.
