Derrick Henry is already very happy to be a Raven, as many know he gets to play with Lamar Jackson, which is a dream for many fans to see, and he’s glad he’s not the center of attention now with being teammates with Jackson.

It definitely brings a different aspect, because he [Jackson] is a dual-threat quarterback, and he’s dangerous with his legs just as he is with his arm,” Henry said, via The Athletic. “It’s going to be fun and a breath of fresh air not being the center of attention, knowing that eyes are going to be on him, as well. But I’m just excited to get to work and put the work in out here and let it all come together.”

Derrick Henry was close to being traded to two “playoff teams” during the 2023 season.

Derrick Henry was very close to being traded before the 2023 Trade Deadline, with Tennessee selling players off like Kevin Byard to Philadelphia, Henry thought he was also on the move, many believe one of the teams interested was his now team the Baltimore Ravens.

“I was hurt a little bit because I came in with KB and we were the vets in the group that had been there the longest, so when they traded KB, I was like, dang, if they traded KB I might be next.’

“Did you think you were going to because you were obviously brought up in a lot of speculation?” Compton asked.

“Oh I felt like it was close, it was really close,” Henry said.”It was close, close.”

Taylor Lewan pushed and asked if they were teams that would be in the playoffs.

Yeah, it was two for sure, the other one, I don’t know if that would have happened but the one, it was pretty close. A lot went down with that little saga with the trade obviously”

Compton asked the Tennessee Titans star if he wanted to get traded or if he was fully against it.

At that time I didn’t know what was going on,” Derrick Henry responded. “KB had just gotten traded so I was trying to wrap my head around that. And then after that happened, I’m thinking they’re trying to get all of us outta here. So I’m just trying to figure out what’s happening on my team, talking to my agent seeing what he can find out because all this stuff is out on the internet about me being shopped and me being traded so, I had to let my girl know, I didn’t know what was going on.

I felt like it almost went down.”

Compton added that both teams were in the AFC, which Henry agreed with, and speculated that it was the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens, which Henry never denied.
