New York Jets Expected to Trade Star Wide Receiver With Loss Against Houston Texans

The New York Jets have been one of the most disappointing teams in the league this season, only winning two games through the first nine weeks. New York has tried to combat this by bringing in stars like Mike Williams and Davante Adams to complement Aaron Rodgers in the passing attack, but it has not worked out. If the Jets lose this Thursday against the Houston Texans, one of their star receivers is likely to be traded.

The team is expected to trade star receiver Mike Williams if they cannot pull off the win this week, according to ESPN analyst Jeremy Fowler. Williams would also have to play a vital role in the victory for the Jets to keep him around.

Williams has not been able to produce like he has in years past, only amounting to 160 receiving yards and 11 catches in 2024. He was brought in during the offseason by New York to help the passing game led by Rodgers, but it has not been working out like the team hoped it would. Even after the Jets went out and snagged Adams off of the open market, they are still struggling to find success offensively.

Willams signed with the Jets this offseason after spending his entire career with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he was able to produce big numbers when healthy. He has gone for over 1,000 yards in two of his eight seasons in the NFL, and was expected to deliver with the Jets.

However, if he is not able to show out and bring his team to victory this week, he is likely to be dealt to another team. Likely candidates include the Chargers, New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Do you think William will get traded this season, or will he be able to step up and produce for the Jets this week?
