New York Giants Acquire Former 1st-Round Wide Receiver Form Titans To Help Daniel Jones In This Trade Proposal

The New York Giants are trying to give Daniel Jones every opportunity to show he deserved the ridiculous extension the team gave him in the last offseason. The Giants gave Jones electric wide receiver Malik Nabers via the 2024 NFL Draft. A new trade proposal from Alex Ballentine with Bleacher Report would give Jones another helpful target.

The Giants will have a decent receiver corps of Nabers, Darius Slayton, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Allen Robinson. However, the Giants are unsure if tight end Darren Waller will retire before the start of the season. One must also remember the Giants lost explosive running back Saquon Barkley in free agency.Ezoic

Giants urged to trade with Tennessee Titans for Treylon Burks

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks (16) is introduced before a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024.

Ballentine thinks the Giants could trade with the Tennessee Titans for former first-round pick Treylon Burks. Burks won’t be needed as much in Tennessee after the team added Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd this offseason to group with DeAndre Hopkins:

“A move to another team, like the New York Giants, which is still trying to figure out the receiving corps, would make sense. Going from Levis to Daniel Jones might be a downgrade, but the Giants have a lot of unknowns at wide receiver right now.

Rookie Malik Nabers figures to be their No. 1 receiver. Darius Slayton would be the No. 2 option, but he’s currently sitting out OTAs while he works on a new contract with the G-Men.

There are many young options the Giants hope will hit big this season. Adding Burks would give them another body type with potential in the room. At 6’2″, 225 pounds, the former Razorback is much bigger than the likes of Wan’Dale Robinson (5’8″, 185) and Jalin Hyatt (6’0″, 185).

Burks would still have to fight for reps and targets, but the competition would be a lot lighter in New York.”

Giants receive

  • Treylon Burks

Titans receive

  • 2025 sixth-round pick

A Day 3 pick wouldn’t be much for the Giants to give up for a player with tremendous upside. The Titans would receive a small compensation for a player that hadn’t lived up to his potential.

Burks would have a better chance to stay on the field in New York. Jones could benefit from having another talented receiver to target this season. Burks’ best season came as a rookie in 2022, when he caught 33 passes for 665 yards and one touchdown. However, one must remember that the Titans haven’t had an ideal quarterback situation since he’s been in the league.

Of course, the Giants’ current roster of quarterbacks might not be a major upgrade for Burks than what he had to endure with the Titans.
