With new minority owner Tom Brady reportedly playing a big part in the reshaping of the organization, the Las Vegas Raiders are investing heavily in changing their team culture.

The first move Vegas made was hiring head coach Pete Carroll, who had a 137-89-1 record with a Super Bowl win in 14 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks that included five division titles and 10 playoff appearances, to succeed Antonio Pierce.

Then on Sunday, the Raiders made another power move.

After finishing this season 27th in total offense (303.2 yards per game) and 29th in scoring offense (18.2 points per game), Vegas plucked offensive coordinator Chip Kelly from the national champion Ohio State Buckeyes to be its new OC.

Under Kelly's guidance, Ohio State ranked 12th in scoring offense (35.7 points per game) and 30th in total offense (429.4 yards per game) this season.

And while Kelly could've had a shot at winning back-to-back national titles next season, the allure of a big-time pay day coaxed him into heading back to the NFL.

"The @Raiders told candidates during their search they were making a serious commitment with an infusion of cash from the new owners," SI.com's Albert Breer wrote. "Here it is-Chip Kelly was lured to Vegas with a deal averaging $6 million per year, per sources. Kelly is now the NFL's highest-paid coordinator."

Kelly's $6 million salary not only makes him the highest-paid offensive coordinator in the NFL, he'll also make more money than all but 11 NFL head coaches did this season.

Per Front Office Sports, Kelly's salary is tied with Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and higher than Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, and Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, among others.
