The Kansas City Chiefs rallied behind Steve Spagnuolo’s elite defense to win another Super Bowl last season.
Still, the offense had plenty of room for improvement, particularly in terms of the passing game.
Patrick Mahomes barely even attempted to throw the football downfield, as he had virtually no talent to work with and no big-play threats besides the inconsistent Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
That’s why they made sure to address that issue by adding Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown to the mix and also drafting Xavier Worthy, the ultimate speedster, out of Texas.
Worthy missed a portion of the Chiefs’ rookie minicamp with an injury, but it seems like he’s already up to speed.
A clip shared by Steven St. John on Twitter showed Mahomes finding his rookie wideout with a deep pass in practice, and while training camp highlights might not mean that much, it may point out that he’s going to be featured early and often in Andy Reid’s offense next season.

There’s some uncertainty about Rashee Rice, given his legal situation.
And Brown has plenty of potential, but he hasn’t fully panned out yet.
That’s why Worhy could have plenty of opportunities to showcase his speed and his skills next season, and he could become their first legitimate big-play threat since they traded Tyreek Hill away to the Miami Dolphins.
The Chiefs will continue to be the team to beat until proven otherwise, and Worthy may have been the missing piece and X-factor they need to achieve the very first Super Bowl three-peat in NFL history.
