The 13-2 Minnesota Vikings are gearing up to face the 11-4 Green Bay Packers this Sunday at 3:25 PM at U.S. Bank Stadium. With the #1 seed in the NFC still within reach, the Vikings are trying to win out and finish 15-2 for the first time in franchise history.
Like many NFL teams, the Vikings have battled injuries on and off throughout the season. Last week, they were without Harrison Smith, but expect him back on Sunday. Ivan Pace Jr., who has been nursing a hamstring injury, is hoping to get back in action, as well. His 21-day practice window was opened on Christmas Eve.
Minnesota Vikings sign CB Ambry Thomas to practice squad
The Minnesota Vikings were active today, holidays and all. They also signed another cornerback, 25-year-old Ambry Thomas, to the practice squad. Thomas, a 2021 third-round pick from Michigan, hasn’t played in the NFL yet this season, but did start six games for the San Francisco 49ers in 2023.
During his time with the 49ers, Ambry Thomas appeared in 42 games and started 11 of them. He totaled 79 tackles, 2 interceptions forced a fumble in those three seasons. Then… San Francisco released him just a week ago, opening the door for Minnesota to swoop in.
Just a day after being released, Thomas signed with the Colts, but things didn’t work out, after he failed his physical. Now, he’s landed in Minnesota, ready for a fresh start. There has been no mention of any issues with his physical for the Vikings
