Michael Jordan‘s agent, David Falk, took a shot at LeBron James during a discussion with SBJ’s Abe Madkour.
Falk said James is “probably” a top 10 player of all time. He also thinks Jordan would have won “15 championships” had he taken the James route.
“I really like LeBron,” Falk said. “But I think if Jordan had cherry-picked what teams he wanted to be on and two other superstars, he would’ve won 15 championships.”
Jordan spent his entire career with the Bulls. He went 6-0 in the NBA Finals while winning five MVPs, six Finals MVPs, 10 scoring titles, three steals titles and one Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Meanwhile, James has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers (twice), Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers. He’s 4-6 in the NBA Finals. The Akron native is a four-time MVP, a four-time Finals MVP, a one-time scoring champion and a one-time assists champion.
Jordan’s best teammates were Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman. Meanwhile, James has played with Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Dwight Howard, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook and Luka Doncic (just to name a few stars).
Jordan is first in NBA history in points per game in the regular season and postseason. He also holds the record for most points scored (69) in a playoff game. The Hall of Famer averaged 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 1,072 games with the Bulls and Washington Wizards.
James, who grew up idolizing Jordan, is first in NBA history in points. He’s the only player to rank top five all-time in points and assists. The future Hall of Famer has career averages of 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.4 assists.
The GOAT debate will never die. At this point, we should just celebrate greatness and stop the comparisons. Like Theodore Roosevelt said, comparison is the thief of joy.
