Micah Parsons reveals why he wants to 'punish the Giants' every year

The New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys are naturally heated rivals in the NFC East division. So, it's not unusual to have players from each team hold personal vendettas against the other franchise.

Micah Parsons reveals why he wants to 'punish the Giants'

However, Cowboys star pass-rusher Micah Parsons revealed the intriguing reason behind his hatred of New York.

"[The Giants] lied to me," Parsons told CBS Sports' Bryant McFadden on Thursday. "People don't know this, they told me if I fell to [the 11th pick in the 2021 draft] they was gonna pick me."

New York, as some may know, did not select Parsons with the 11th pick in 2021, instead opting to trade back to pick No. 20 and taking Florida wide receiver Kadarius Toney.

"That's why I punish the Giants every time [I play them]," Parsons explained.

The Cowboys star has recorded 4.5 sacks and 21 total tackles in eight games against New York in his career.

While that's hardly considered punishing a team, the Giants haven't beaten Dallas once in their last eight meetings.

But it still must be salt in the wounds of Giants fans to learn their team allegedly made that kind of a promise and went back on it to the future two-time All-Pro, four-time Pro Bowler and the 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Parsons is still going to make life difficult for New York as long as he's a Cowboy and now the team and fans know why every time he makes a hard hitting tackle it looks and feels personal.
