Miami Dolphins’ WR Tyreek Hill Continues To Make Headlines For All The Wrong Reasons

Yesterday was Wednesday. A day of the week that ends in ‘y, ’ which means Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill probably did something to get the internet talking.

Last week, it was his peace sign to a fan and the constant trolling of trade rumors. McDaniel shrugged it off as ‘cheetahs will be cheetahs. ’ However, this week, it’s much, much more serious.

I will tiptoe my best around the legal stuff, but according to South Florida legend, Andy Slater, the police were called to Hill’s house over a dispute involving his mother-in-law and wife, Keeta Hill. The details of the dispute can be found HERE.

No charges were made because no crime was committed, according to police, but something clearly happened. And crime or not, it’s just another chapter in the endless Tyreek Hill cycle.

His past should’ve been enough of a red flag, but it wasn’t, and he was traded to Miami where it almost seemed like he was a changed man. He was praised as a locker room leader, became Tua Tagovailoa’s biggest cheerleader, and showed out on the field. And then the old Tyreek showed itself once again.

There was an incident with a model in February 2024, where she broke her foot doing football drills with Miami’s WR1; details of that incident can be found HERE. Then there was the police incident before Miami’s week one matchup vs the Jacksonville Jaguars.

And, of course, his week 18 tantrum where he refused to return to the field. (This is where he lost my respect. It was unforgivable to quit during the game and then demand a trade, only to backtrack and laugh it off like it’s a joke.)

I’m sure I’m missing something, which is a problem in itself. He’s become way too much like Antonio Brown, and when he isn’t even hitting 1,000 yards or helping the team take down Buffalo in a critical AFC East showdown, what’s the point? The truth is the Dolphins have peaked under Hill. Period.

I said a few months ago that I would trade Hill to the highest bidder — sooner rather than later — but what’s he worth at this point? A second-round pick almost seemed like the ceiling before, would a team really shake up their entire locker room to add one of the most explosive playmakers the game has ever seen, even if he is a child off the field?

I mean, the Dolphins gave up five draft picks and a ton of money to lure Cheetah to South Florida. He had issues then, and that didn’t stop a bidding war from taking place between the Jets and Dolphins.

So sure, it’s possible. But a trade would need to happen sooner rather than later, because as we’ve seen over the last 365 days, Tyreek Hill is a ticking time bomb. I pray another team steps forward and rids Miami of the massive distraction Hill has become before it’s too little, too late.
