With just under a week remaining until the 2025 NFL Draft arrives, the Miami Dolphins have been heavily in the rumor mill. Jalen Ramsey has reportedly been made available for trade.

If the Dolphins do trade Ramsey, they will need to bring in some help at the position. Thankfully, they hold the No. 13 overall pick and will have a chance to draft one of the top young defensive backs in the class should they choose to do so.

A new prediction has been made for Miami. That prediction would see the team trade down from No. 13 to No. 14 with the Indianapolis Colts. After that trade, the Dolphins have been predicted to bring in an elite cornerback talent.

Chad Reuter of NFL.com has revealed a new seven-round mock draft. He has Miami making the above trade and then landing Texas Longhorns standout cornerback Jahdae Barron at No. 14 overall.

“I already had Miami selecting Barron — and then we learned the Dolphins are working with Jalen Ramsey on a trade elsewhere. Barron’s 4.39 speed and competitive nature make him a natural pick here.”

Bringing in Barron would be a perfect long-term solution for the Dolphins at cornerback. He has extremely high potential and could become one of the NFL’s best coverage corners very quickly.

Throughout his five-year college career, playing a big role in three of those seasons, Barron racked up 226 total tackles, two sacks, eight interceptions, a defensive touchdown, a forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and 24 defended passes in 57 games played.

Miami could choose to go in a different direction, but on the outside in it does appear that Barron would be a perfect fit and would certainly be a great pick if Ramsey is trade elsewhere.
