The Buffalo Bills have wrapped up their 2025 NFL draft. While they brought in some great young talent throughout the draft, they opted not to address one of the main positions that many thought they would pursue aggressively.
Surprisingly, the Bills did not address the wide receiver position until taking Kaden Prather in the seventh round.
Entering the NFL offseason, adding an upgrade at wide receiver was expected to be a major priority. However, they have not done that.
Mel Kiper Jr. spoke out after the draft and revealed that Buffalo might regret its decision to not address the wide receiver room earlier in the draft.
"Not taking a receiver until No. 240 (Kaden Prather) was curious. The Bills' first five picks went to defense, only the second time in the common draft era they've done that (2006)," Kiper said. "Chase Lundt is a depth right tackle. Jackson Hawes is a blocking tight end. While Buffalo walked away from the draft with some defensive upgrades, quarterback Josh Allen's unit didn't improve this month. Buffalo could regret not doing more there."
As of right now, the Bills have Khalil Shakir penciled in as their No. 1 wideout. Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer are the next two options, with Curtis Samuel coming in as No. 4 on the projected depth chart.
Prather played well during the 2024 college football season at Maryland. He caught 56 passes for 624 yards and four touchdowns.
There is a chance the seventh-round pick could play a role in 2025, but Buffalo will need to rely on players stepping up into a bigger role if the front office doesn't make other moves.
