Having Maxx Crosby on your team has its pros and cons when it comes to both the games and practices. For the Las Vegas Raiders, the pro is that they have one of the best players in the world every single game. You know what you're going to get every single week.
And then the con is for his teammates. For the guys on the opposite side of the ball, you have to deal with this guy who is just an absolute pest, every single day. He will get on your nerves, he will do whatever it takes to get in your head so he can win his rep, so his defense can win that play. So, yeah, the guys on the offensive side of the ball have to hate going against him in practice every single day.
And I feel like there is no one who gets the worst of it than the offensive line and the quarterback. Most of the guys on the offensive line for the Raiders, besides guys like Alex Cappa, the former Cincinnati Bengals guard that the Raiders signed, and the rookies they drafted, are used to it. For the most part, the offensive line is the same.
But the quarterback, the new quarterback in town, former Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith, is getting introduced to Crosby's antics in the perfect way. A way only he can.
According to several media members who were actually at practice on Thursday, Crosby batted down a pass that Smith threw and actually did the Dikembe Mutombo finger wag, something the legendary NBA center did every time he blocked someone's shot.
So, Smith got an early dose of Crosby and how he can act at practice when he's on the opposite side of the ball as you. But, that's just who he is, and it's infectious, making everyone around him better.
