Fans immediately fell in love with the 58-year-old retired widower, and it wasn't much of a surprise when he was cast in The Golden Bachelorette season 1. Though he was expected to easily win the heart of 62-year-old Joan Vassos, she sent Mark home before her hometown dates. Since then, Mark has been romantically linked with a television actress, and it may mean he won't be replacing Gerry Turner as the next The Golden Bachelor.
Mark Is Too Sweet To Break Women's Hearts
He Tries Too Hard & Lacks Killer Instincts
While Joan was excited to learn that Mark would be a contestant on The Golden Bachelorette season 1, the two lacked chemistry. Part of the problem may have been that Mark was trying too hard. Joan didn't give Mark a solo date until later in the season, even though Mark always tried to pull Joan aside. Though she kissed him during their impromptu German lesson, the whole thing was his idea. If Mark had tried that hard with Joan, he would likely have done the same during The Golden Bachelor season 2.

Did Prince Charming Find His Cinderella?
It all started on Halloween. The television actress Barbara Alyn Woods, from the scripted drama series One Tree Hill, posted an Instagram photo that featured Mark dressed as Prince Charming and Barbara dressed as Cinderella. Kelsey recently posted their family holiday photos, which clarified her father's relationship. In the photos, Mark, his children, and their significant others gather on a stairway in matching pajamas, and Barbara is there. It's hard not to read this as validation that Mark and Barbara are a couple, which means he can't be The Golden Bachelor.
