Sam Darnold’s move into the Seattle Seahawks roster was a very well-calculated move, and the team’s General Manager, John Schneider, recently discussed the same in his latest appearance on the’3 & Out’ podcast with John Middlekauf. Schneider pointed out that he and the team had to think and rethink their decision to bring in Darnold, especially after Geno Smith.
Darnold was brought into the Seattle Seahawks, who were left without a starting quarterback after Geno Smith left. Smith will be playing his first season with the Las Vegas Raiders in the upcoming NFL season.
“Sam, (Vikings head coach) Kevin O’Connell, you know, professional friend of mine. You know, Ryan Grigson is there now too in Minnesota. Rob Brzezinski, you’re relying on your contacts and like the characters, the leader, everybody that’s coached him over the years, and then watching his (Sam Darnold’s) progression and watching him improve.” John Schneider said about Sam Darnold in the ‘3 & Out’ podcast with John Middlekauff.
“Yeah, that’s where we’ve made some of our biggest mistakes. It’s just not taking as much time as we possibly should with all the contacts that we have, right? So have we covered all of our bases, and have we checked all the boxes? And making sure that we’re signing the appropriate person for our building.” Schneider went on to add about Darnold and the Seahawks.

Sam Darnold played for the Minnesota Vikings in the previous NFL season. However, the quarterback seems to be doing pretty well in training camps with the team this offseason. Darnold has been in the league since 2018, but is yet to win a Super Bowl ring.

Sam Darnold Is Out To Prove Himself Worthy With Seahawks
Sam Darnold has a huge burden on his shoulders with the Seattle Seahawks. The quarterback was awarded a pretty massive deal and is expected to turn things around with his new team. In the previous football season, the quarterback managed to chalk up 35 touchdowns for the team, but the Minnesota Vikings did not make it anywhere near the playoffs.

Darnold has been reported to be working extra hard in the training camps with the Seattle Seahawks to prove that he is worthy of the three-year deal they gave him. The quarterback will be seen in action pretty soon as his team kicks off their season with a matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.
