The Buffalo Bills have a chance to finally slay their playoff bogeyman in the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
But the Chiefs QB would like some help from KC fans to keep that from happening.
With the Bills losing all three playoff games to Patrick Mahomes and Co., there is an element of "will they ever beat him" hovering over Buffalo.
Well, now the Bills have another crack at the three-time Super Bowl winner, and while it is on his turf, there are some who think that Josh Allen will finally notch that first playoff win and advance to the Super Bowl.
"Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl MVP -- two of which have come in the previous two seasons -- is 21-1 in his past 22 starts with the only loss coming in a 30-21 defeat at the Bills in Week 11 this season," CBS Sports writes. "Allen and Co. are going to do it again and finally topple the Chiefs in the postseason. Why? Because they don't commit turnovers as a team like almost no other team has before. Allen has an average postseason day, for him, which is finally enough for Buffalo to overcome Kansas City and advance to the Super Bowl."
Maybe so ... but Mahomes has other ideas.
"It's the AFC Championship Game; you've got to put it all on the line in order to win and try to get to the Super Bowl," Mahomes said. "This is a great football team we're going up against, so all of us are going to go out there and give it everything we have. Chiefs Kingdom is always passionate, they're always loud.
"I would just say let's even take it up a notch, let's see how loud this place can really get. I always appreciate the love and support that they show for us."
The fans can help. But the turnover battle looms large. Between the Bills and Chiefs, just one turnover combined in the last eight games paints the picture of two efficient football teams.
As we know, in the playoffs, mistakes are magnified (just ask Lamar Jackson), so it will be crucial to the outcome of the game.
Buffalo has been superb at protecting the football all season, but when everything is on the line, in a hostile environment against Chiefs Kingdom, can it stay the course?
We're about to find out.
