The New York Knicks pulled off a second straight comeback victory over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday evening. Despite trailing big throughout the game, the Knicks stormed all the way back to win Game 2 by a final score of 91-90.
In each of the first two games, the Celtics looked like the better team for a good portion of the 48 minutes. However, New York has been able to turn the first two games of the series around and win in the fourth quarter.
Heading back to Madison Square Garden, the Knicks hold an unexpected 2-0 series lead. There is still a lot of work to do, but Tom Thibodeau and company are in good shape.
Magic Johnson, the Los Angeles Lakers' legend, spoke out about the entertaining series. He compared the "Showtime Lakers" run to what New York has done through two games.
"I remember back in the day my Showtime Lakers were in the same position as the New York Knicks when the San Antonio Spurs beat us in all four regular season games and we ended up playing them in the Playoffs," he wrote in a post on X. "We had a chip on our shoulder and we had something to prove not only to ourselves but to the Spurs and we ended up beating them in the Playoffs! The Knicks are facing this against the Celtics."
Coming into the series, Boston was viewed as the far superior team. The Knicks were not given a good chance to win.

Through two games, they have silenced their doubters. Now, they simply need to win two out of the next five games to close out the series and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Game 3 will be played on Saturday afternoon with tip off scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will be aired on ABC as New York looks to go for a commanding 3-0 series lead.
As for the Celtics, they will be facing some desperation as they look to keep the series alive. Going down 3-0 would be nearly impossible to come back from.
