Luna's Crazy...But Let's Get Back to Liam: The Bold and the Beautiful Two Scoops for the week

Did you know that The Bold and the Beautiful's Luna Nozawa is unhinged and delusional and blames Steffy for most of her problems and her mother for the rest? If you didn't, then you certainly know now. But did you know the rest?

Rinse, repeat

Did you know that Luna keeps showing up at Steffy's house unannounced? Did you know that everyone wants Luna to leave town? Did you know that Steffy is so grateful that Finn refuses to have a relationship with Luna? Did you know that Ridge is terrified for Steffy? And Liam, too? And Taylor? Did you know she has psychoanalyzed Luna without really meeting her?

Has there ever been a week when we have been told something again and again and again, with everyone repeating the same dialogue more than this week? Yes, this is a B&B trademark, but this past week — woo boy! How many more times did we have to hear the same things over and over with almost zero story movement for most of the week?

While bringing Remy back into the mix and showing that even he is a bit weirded out by Luna has been a welcome (yet sorta expected) twist, most of the week was just more of the same. Everyone is telling Luna the same thing. Everyone is lamenting the same thing. Over and over on a loop.

The one thing we could be sure of by the end of the week is that Luna is not going to just break into Steffy's house and get in more target practice. Nope, she has her sights set on Hayes and making sure Steffy knows what it is like for a parent and child to feel desperate when separated. That was some story movement at least, and not a direction we expected.

So, who is going to be caught in the middle of this? Will Sheila sacrifice her granddaughter to save her grandson? Will a dying Liam be caught in the crossfire? Will Remy come through and somehow endear himself to Electra again? This story does have some good soapy potential if we could just move away from people talking about the soapy potential. Let's just get to it already.

You own this, Bill

At least Dollar Bill Spencer caught a rare bout of self-awareness this week when he kinda-sorta admitted to Li that he might (keyword: might) have made a mistake when he got Luna released from prison and pardoned. He figured they had so much in common, being raised by a single mom and all. Too bad Bill forgot about the part where Luna became a serial killer. Couldn't Bill have bonded with someone else raised by a single mom? It's not like there's a shortage out there.

We enjoyed Li putting Bill in his place and wish The Bold and the Beautiful would delve into their interesting little relationship more. It's been three years since Bill rescued Li from her homeless amnesiac life behind Il Giardino. We need to see more of them together.

The best moments of the week

Hope was, without a doubt, the most insightful character of the week, spending the best moments of the week on Steffy's couch with Liam. She implored him to tell his family the truth, not just for his own sake, but for theirs, as well. Liam has been so worried about the people he will be leaving behind that he has not thought about how they would feel if they learned about a loved one's illness and death when it was too late to offer support and comfort — and say goodbye.

Liam's story is the most compelling one on this show, and all the actors involved — especially Scott Clifton — have been knocking it out of the park. Our hearts have been bleeding for Liam through all of this. We hadn't seen him much for over a year, but Clifton is playing it as if Liam has spent a lot of time reflecting during that time. Liam is still Liam, but he is also much more insightful, kind, and mature.

We like this Liam and want to see more of him. His chemistry with Annika Noelle is also different now. Seeing Hope and Liam as old friends rather than constantly fraught and angst-ridden lovers is a nice change of pace. They are much more comfortable and natural with one another and show how far divorced couples can come.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled destiny

Hope also had to sit on a couch and listen to her mother drone on and on about destiny again, as she has her entire life. As Hope reminded Brooke in recent years, she used to have to lift her mother off a puddle of tears on the floor as she cried over yet another breakup with Ridge. When will enough be enough?

Well, it looks like never, according to Brooke. Hope also reminded Brooke that Ridge was with Taylor now, seemed happy with Taylor, and had rejected her over and over again. That meant nothing at all to Brooke. Ridge is her destiny, and that is that. So what if he fell into bed with Taylor within minutes of their latest split? Sure, it hurts to think of the man you love with someone else. However, Brooke has absolutely zero self-respect, so she doesn't care and would take Ridge back in a heartbeat. Maybe someone will come along soon and give Brooke some of that self-respect she so lacks. Here's hoping...
