Leon Draisaitl Makes NHL History After Unreal Overtime Goal in Game 4

Oilers' Leon Draisaitl scored the game-winning goal in Game 4's overtime vs. the Panthers last night, and in the process, he made some NHL history.

You can never count out the Edmonton Oilers or Leon Draisaitl. In one of the all-time Game 4 miracles, the Oilers rallied from a 3-0 road deficit to defeat the Florida Panthers 5-4 in overtime, matching an NHL record that dated to 1919.

For the fourth time in this playoff run, Draisaitl was the savior. In the middle of the first overtime, the Edmonton winger battled through heavy pressure from a half-dozen Panthers defenders.

Unstoppable, Draisaitl carried to the slot and carefully chipped in the game-winner with a beautiful, appearing to be effortless shot. The goal completed a wild win by the Oilers, who trailed 3-0 in the first period.

Draisaitl now has four overtime winners in this playoff run

The achievement also placed Draisaitl in the record books, as he is now the NHL record holder for the most overtime goals scored in a single playoffs with four.

His heroics are an overtime winner over the Kings in Game 4, a Game 2 winner over the Golden Knights, and now two over the Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final.

While the Oilers would rather be closing out games sooner in regulation time, they have come to rely on Draisaitl in overtime. He never shies away from the moment.

With Edmonton now only two victories from winning the Stanley Cup, they could use a little extra magic from their star to seal it.
