It was a moment fans had been anticipating for a very long time. As such, it finally came to pass during the summer, as LeBron James teamed up with Steph Curry on Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The star duo led the national team to victory, where they secured a gold medal in basketball.

In a recent interview on the “GoJo and Golic” show, LeBron James discussed his experience with Chef Curry’s standout performance. James, just like the fans in the arena and at home, was super pumped with the way things played out between himself and Curry.

I talked to him a lot about that, him being in his first Olympic Games… I knew the onslaught was going to happen… Steph did what Steph does, hitting those big-time shots and putting everybody to sleep. It was an unbelievable moment, and I was happy to be alongside him. LeBron James on GoJo and Golic

Interestingly, Steph Curry focused on his career in the NBA as he had faced challenges in the past adjusting to FIBA rules. His tournament in Paris started slow, but when he found his groove, the ‘Devil’ as the French commentators said, started cooking.

His best moment came in the semifinal against Serbia when he exploded for 36 points and dragged the USA from the brink of defeat. Moreover, in the gold medal game, he followed up with 24 points, as he shot an impressive 8/12 shots from beyond the arc.

An old clip of LeBron James praising Stephen Curry emerges

It’s not a debate that LeBron James and Steph Curry have been two of the most prominent players in the modern NBA. They have a combined eight championships between them since 2012. Fighting for dominance and battling it out on the big stage many times.

While everyone had taken sides, an old clip has resurfaced on X that shows King James talking about Curry before he even entered the NBA. The clip has now gone viral as it was reposted by Hoop Central via NBA History.

I think so. I think he knows how to play the game of basketball. Being the son of a former NBA player (Dell Curry) he was taught well how to play the game of basketball. He has the talent. He’s good. He's good. I was impressed. LeBron James said about Steph Curry

Unfortunately, they won’t get the opportunity to play together in their professional career as that move was blocked by LBJ’s agent Rich Paul . Notwithstanding, their rivalry will resume when they lock horns again in their hotly contested Western Conference.
