The Las Vegas Raiders are seeing their 2024 season go up in flames as we speak.  Through nine games they sit 2-7, they’ve traded away their best offensive player in Davante Adams, and they’re staring at a top five draft pick in 2025.

However, news this week has been about their former head coach officially landing a new job.

A multi-year deal has been signed with Barstool Sports by former Buccaneers and Raiders head coach Jon Gruden:

Portnoy posted the video below to social media, which shows the 61-year-old taking over a whiteboard session and asking a class including the likes of Portnoy and Big Cat whether they want to “learn some football” after explaining a play.

Check it out here:

Jon Gruden’s NFL career has been marred by controversy. He was forced to resign as the head coach of the Raiders in 2021 after leaked emails from 2011 to 2018 exposed him for using homophobic, racist, and misogynistic rhetoric.

The emails were discovered during an NFL investigation into the Washington Commanders

Gruden has stuck around the game, having been involved in several roles since leaving coaching, including consultancy. He recently appeared as a guest at a Bucs game, which suggests a mending of fences between the parties.

When he returned to the Raiders in 2018, the Super Bowl-winning coach signed a $100 million 10-year contract, one of the richest in NFL history at the time.

It will be interesting to see what figure he’s going to make at his new job.
