On Wednesday, May 14, the full 2025 NFL schedule will be released. While we already know the teams that the Houston Texans will be playing in 2025, we will now get to figure out the dates, times, and streaming services they will be on.
The Texans have really grown their brand over the last few years. It helps having a franchise quarterback in C.J. Stroud, but it also helps when you win, and over the last two years, the Texans have been a playoff-winning team. In his first two seasons as head coach, DeMeco Ryans has won two playoff games, one against the Cleveland Browns and one against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Having them on primetime TV these days is a must. And, I think in 2025 they will be cemented as a premier primetime TV team, meaning they will start consistently having a ton of those types of games.
In 2024, they had six primetime games, which helped make up for 2023 having none in the regular season. In 2025, they are sure to have a few. Here are my predictions for the Texans' 2025 schedule when it gets released on Wednesday:
Prediction 1: Texans will have at least six primetime games
They deserve it. When you have the team they have with the star power they have in Stroud, Danielle Hunter, Will Anderson Jr., Nico Collins, and Derek Stingley Jr., you deserve to be on TV a ton. And, I think they will, just like last year.
They have rebranded their uniforms to appeal more to current times, making them a more formidable team to play on the big stage, as they attract the younger generation of fans. They have an electric defense and an offense that has the potential to be the highest scoring in the league. Put them on TV!
Prediction 2: Texans and Rams to play on Christmas Day
If the Texans get another Christmas Day game this year, it could make them a premier team to get that game every year, or at least close to every year. But, this time I think the flashy game will be the Los Angeles Rams, who are primed to take another step after almost beating the Philadelphia Eagles in the postseason last year.
Think about C.J. Stroud against Matt Stafford, Davante Adams against Derek Stingley. That matchup is going to be huge.
Prediction 3: Texans and Buccaneers to play on Monday Night Football
The Texans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers had one of the best games of the regular season two years ago when it went into overtime, and Stroud walked away victorious with a walk-off touchdown. Both teams should be improved, too, which will only make for a pretty nice game.
The Texans have played 15 MNF games in their franchise history, and are 6-9 in those games. But, this game could help get that record closer to even.
