Have New England Patriots fans heard enough about Will Campbell yet?
There have been so many different reports surrounding the LSU tackle, but in recent days it seemed like a done deal that the Patriots were going to select him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
However, A to Z Sports' latest draft intel tells a bit of a different story. While Campbell is still high on the list, there are two other prospects that have also caught New England's eye.
"LSU tackle Will Campbell quickly becomes the chalk pick for the Patriots at four. I do get the sense he is among their top options, but I've been told there are people in the building banging the table for Ashton Jeanty and Jalon Walker as well. I think one of those three players will end up being the pick," Destin Adams wrote.
So, it's clear that Campbell to the Patriots isn't quite a done deal yet.
It's leaning in that direction, but they aren't out on Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty or Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker.
With Jeanty, the Patriots could be getting a key weapon on offense that brings a new level to the run game. He finished the 2024 season with 374 carries for 2,601 rushing yards and 29 rushing touchdowns along with 23 receptions for 138 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.
It's hard not to recognize his potential. And there are other tackle prospects in the draft so New England can address this at another time. However, there isn't anyone quite like Jeanty.
As for Walker, he has been compared to Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons. He proved to be a dominant pass rusher and can also deliver in the run game. So with that, it would be the addition of an athletic defender.
The Patriots have options with the No. 4 overall pick, but they have to determine which one has the best chance to be a star in the league and can help New England get back on top.
