The Las Vegas Raiders lost to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. But, even at 2-6, there are some positives to take away from this game. The offense looked much better, at times, and had a few good drives. It felt impossible for them to score 20 points, but somehow they did.
The defense did their thing at times, too, as they forced Patrick Mahomes into a pretty average night when we know he can go absolutely nuclear against the Raiders. In fact, one Raiders player got the best of Mahomes, and he will never forget it.
Yes, the Raiders lost. Yes, they are now 2-6. Yes, they are not a team to take moral victories. But, when you're a young player like safety Tre'Von Moehrig is, you keep the ball that you intercepted Patrick Mahomes with. That's not something every player will get to say they were able to do.
And, he did just that.
Moehrig especially wanted to keep this one because he had one last season that was taken away. This is a special souvenir he will have for as long as he pleases, and it's something special.
As much as the fan base hates Mahomes, he is one of the best players to ever play the game, and there is no denying that.
This is no Chiefs fan page, so I won't go on and on, but there is a reason he has three rings and is going for a three-peat this year. The refs don't do all that for him. There are players in the league, even on the Raiders who genuinely respect Mahomes.
Next, they will go up against some pretty good quarterbacks in Joe Burrow for the Cincinnati Bengals, and others on the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Chargers, and even possibly Derek Carr on the New Orleans Saints.
