The Las Vegas Raiders need to get their general manager as soon as they can. The sooner they get their GM, the sooner they can start planning for free agency and the draft.
Luckily for them, they have been doing their due diligence during this search, interviewing, and requesting to interview some of the very best guys in the business -- guys that just haven't had their shot yet.
They will now try to interview one of their biggest rivals' front office members.
Raiders set to interview Chargers' Chad Alexander
Chad Alexander is the Assistant General Manager for the Los Angeles Chargers.
During his five-year stint with the New York Jets as Director of Player Personnel, he was instrumental in drafting standout players like Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner, who both earned NFL Rookie of the Year titles in 2022. Before that, he dedicated 20 years to the Baltimore Ravens, ending his time there as Assistant Director of Pro Personnel for nine seasons.
Alexander's shift to the Chargers was bolstered by his long history with Chargers GM Joe Hortiz, with whom he worked for two decades in Baltimore. In his first year with the Chargers, Alexander's leadership and talent evaluation skills significantly enhanced the team's performance, leading to an uptick in their win record.
He's known for his scouting expertise and is considered a central figure in the Chargers' management decisions. Additionally, his participation in the NFL’s Front Office & General Manager Accelerator Program underscores his potential for higher leadership positions in the league.
The Raiders would be getting a guy who knows a thing or two about roster building.
