Las Vegas Raiders In Talks To Trade For All-Pro WR Amid Big Veteran QB Update: Report

The Las Vegas Raiders are appearing aggressive in head coach Pete Carroll’s first offseason. The Raiders released Gardner Minshew earlier this week, signaling that a change of the guard is going to happen at quarterback in 2025.

Raiders needed to overhaul the offense after a disastrous 2024. Las Vegas has a star pass-catching weapon in tight end Brock Bowers, but the team needs to add a starting caliber QB and find a WR1 after losing Davante Adams.

Per The Athletic‘s Dianna Russini, the Raiders are looking to add a veteran option in either free agency in the trade market.

“The Las Vegas Raiders are exploring veteran quarterback options on the free agent and trade market, per sources,” Russini wrote. “That includes the possibility of trading for a current starting QB.”

There should be plenty of options to choose from in the market. Sam Darnold, Aaron Rodgers, Justin Fields, and Russell Wilson are a few of the names that should be within the Raiders’ reach.

But who would want to come to Las Vegas with the lack of talent on offense?

The Raiders are looking to add an All-Pro option at wideout.

Per Brady Henderson of ESPN, the Raiders have had talks with the Seattle Seahawks for wide receiver DK Metcalf.

“The Las Vegas Raiders are among the teams the Seahawks have talked to about a possible Metcalf trade, a source told ESPN,” Henderson wrote. “If Seattle does deal Metcalf, Schneider pointed to the draft as a deadline.”

Metcalf has been with the Seahorse since they selected him in the secondary round of the 2019 draft. The Ole Miss standout earned All-Pro honors in 2020 and made Pro Bowl appearances in 2020 and 2023.

At 27, the six-foot-four, 235-pound athlete has appeared in 97 games and started 93. Metcalf has recorded 438 receptions for 6,324 yards and 48 touchdowns in his six-year NFL career.
