The Las Vegas Raiders will have a lot riding in the upcoming season. There are some major expectations on this squad, and the fans are aspiring for a return to the postseason after a two-year hiatus.
A lot will be riding on the shoulders of head coach Antonio Pierce , and the 45-year-old appears to have already unlocked a key weapon that will help the team’s cause. This comes in the form of incoming second-year wide receiver Tre Tucker.
Pierce clearly likes what he’s seen from his young wideout in the offseason thus far. So much so, that the Raiders shot-caller has already sounded off on what he feels will be a big year for the former third-round pick:
“Don’t look at the size, don’t mention that,” Pierce said, via ESPN. “Watch him play. He’s the biggest guy out there. He had a hell of an offseason. . . . Everything that we talked about working on, he took that to another level. And you could see the look in his eye of a confident player, of a guy that’s just going to constantly get better. He’s pushing.”
As Pierce touched on in his statement above, there have been question marks about the size of the 5-foot-9, 185-lb Tucker. The Las Vegas shot-caller, however, has dispelled the uncertainty by claiming that Tucker’s work ethic and attitude have overshadowed whatever doubts there might be surrounding his lack of physicality.
2024 could be a big year for this young man.
