Much was made of the cultural change Dan Quinn made last season as the head coach of the Washington Commanders, and newly acquired left tackle Laremy Tunsil is already noticing it.
With OTAs and minicamp now completed, Tunsil, who has been getting his feet wet on the field and in the classroom, having been traded from the Houston Texans, is liking his time in the nation's capital so far.
And as for Quinn's culture and the vibes at practice?
"It's something special for sure," Tunsil said via JP Finlay. "I think a DQ did a good job putting the culture together, putting the players together, and just embracing this new chapter with the Washington Commanders. I've been here for two days, I love the atmosphere, good energy, good people.
So, Tunsil has acclimated well to Washington's way of doing things, and he is poised to play a significant role in determining the NFC East franchise's success in 2025.
Jayden Daniels' new blindside protector, Tunsil, will be tasked with trying to bring Daniels' sack numbers down. Having been sacked 47 times last season, the sixth-most in football, given Jayden's slender build, that is a recipe for disaster.
So why not hire a five-time Pro Bowler to serve as his bodyguard?
With Tunsil guarding Jayden's blindside, last season's Offensive Rookie of the Year, can continue his ascension into the NFL's elite in Year 2. Granted, success isn't guaranteed, but Daniels showed in his rookie season that it might only be a matter of time before he is thrust into MVP conversations.
And if he is, we imagine that Tunsil would have had a fair say in proceedings on the field.
