The Eagles added $8 million over the next two years to his contract, and an additional $30 million in guarantees. Johnson will now earn $48 million over the next two years, including $40 million guaranteed.

Johnson, who was drafted fourth overall by the Eagles in 2013, couldn't be happier knowing he will eventually end his NFL journey right where he started it.

"When you're about to turn 35 you tend to reflect a lot, especially in the league. Yeah, man, it's been a fun ride," Johnson said. "You know, coming into the NFL, you don't know what to expect, but, you know, this, this fan base, has really embraced me through the good and the bad. And I think that we've really the culture here has been a certain way for a long time. And I felt like I was introduced to something special. And in some aspects, we're able to carry on tradition. And I think that's what I'm most proud of. And with new teammates coming in to show them what Philadelphia is about, what this team is about, and what it's like in this building."

The Eagles now have Johnson under contract through 2027, which means he will be 37 when his new deal runs out.

When asked if he plans to stick it all the way, Johnson was very honest.

"I mean, it's, it's very possible," he said. "I think when you get to this stage of your career, you take it year by year. But physically I feel really good. I was thinking, you know, a few years ago, when I was coming back from all these surgeries that I thought my body was going to start failing or going downhill. But just think with the strengthening and conditioning program we have here, the stuff we do in the off-season, I feel really good. So yeah, as long as I'm feeling good and I feel like I can contribute, yeah, think I'll continue to play.

"You know, it's all really known. I love my football family. I'm an only child, so my brothers are here, and I've always been in the locker room and that's how I feel."

Johnson, 34, only proved in 2024 that he has plenty of juice left in the tank after picking up his sixth overall Pro Bowl nod.

Not to mention that Johnson potentially playing through 2027 is not only great news for the Eagles' unstoppable run game featuring Saquon Barkley, but also Jalen Hurts' passing game. His blocking skills remained incredible in both areas this past season as he led the position in pass-blocking (83.1) and run-blocking (92.2), per PFF.
