Katie Maloney is receiving support from Bravo fans and friends after receiving heartbreaking family news. In January 2025, the former “Vanderpump Rules” star shared the news that her father, Richard Maloney, had died.
“Vanderpump Rules” fans saw Maloney’s father walk her down the aisle on her wedding day in the season 5 episode “Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Schwartz.”
On January 10, 2025, Maloney, 38, took to Instagram to post a poignant tribute to her dad, which prompted hundreds of supportive messages in the comments section.
Maloney shared two photos of her dad on Instagram. The cover photo was a throwback of her hugging her dad in the snow at a ski resort. The second was a solo shot of her dad at what appeared to be a restaurant in Park City Utah, where Maloney was born and raised.
In the caption, Maloney shared the sad news of her father’s death. “This last Sunday my father passed away,” she wrote. “Since I have been met with a variety of emotions, numbness, peace, complete udder sadness, and even at times guilt. “
The Something About Her co-owner recalled happy memories of her father, noting that he was charming, welcoming and full of great “dad” jokes. “He was always so supportive of my brothers and I growing up and as adults championed our endeavors,” she continued. “I cannot smell Irish spring without immediately thinking about him, how the scent almost covered up the smell of wheel grease from his job. It’s a core memory that I have always held and hold closer now.
“Dad, I love you forever, thank you for the million laughs, for the father-daughter dances throughout life and for the love you gave us. Love, your baby girl,” she wrote.
