It’s never too late.
Bachelor Nation fans met Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor,” and while they didn’t receive Gerry Turner’s final rose, their friendship stole the hearts of America.
The two now host the “Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour” podcast and often share their best pieces of advice while answering fan questions.
Recently, the “Golden Bachelor” stars attended a red-carpet event and shared some words of wisdom for starting over later in life during an interview with People magazine.
The interviewer asked, “You’ve raised children, you have grandchildren, and there may be people watching this video… being like, you know, I’m entering my third act of life and I want to try something new, try something different. What advice would you give them?”
Kathy and Susan immediately jumped in and shared that people should go for it and not be afraid to try something new.
Susan answered, “Do it! That’s what we do every day is talk to people out there, saying life is not over. I don’t care what you want to do, whether it’s a new friend or new hobby, travel, do whatever you want, but know that your life is not over. You’re not invisible, you’re still gonna enjoy your kids and your grandkids, but do something for you.”
Kathy chimed in and added that even though trying something new can be scary, no one is alone and it’s worth the risk.
She said, “I would also add to that, that people aren’t coming to your door. If you go to an event or take up a new hobby, everybody else there is as scared as you are. Take the challenge. Do it. Because you know what? Fear can be crippling. Don’t let fear stop you. Go for it. You’ll be so glad you did.”
Kathy also shared what motivates her to step outside of her comfort zone and how she stays encouraged to try new things.
She said, “I think at the end of life, I personally do not want to look back and have regrets that I didn’t try something. What’s the worst that can happen you know? You fail, you don’t meet someone, but you might have fun along the way.”
We couldn’t agree more!
We love learning more about Kathy and Susan and hearing all the advice they have to share. We hope this gives some encouragement that it’s never too late to try something new!
