The New York Knicks are back in the playoffs.
They ended the regular season with a win over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday afternoon.
Those who might be superstitious would say it's much better to go into the playoffs with a win than a loss.
The Knicks finished a single win better than last season.
While some would argue that one win isn't a big enough difference for the price they paid to bring in Karl-Anthony Towns, they now have two legit stars who can help them navigate the playoffs.
Karl-Anthony Towns sends clear message
The Knicks finished the season as the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference, which means they'll have home-court advantage through at least the first series.
Game 1 will be Saturday at 6 p.m. ET when they will host the Detroit Pistons at the famed Madison Square Garden.
Towns, an Edison, New Jersey native, just 34 miles away, is excited about his first playoff game in what some call the basketball mecca of the world.
"It's special. Obviously, for me, I've never had a playoff series in 'The Garden,'" Towns said. "Being able to watch it on TV growing up, seeing the crowd...in a regular season game, they're special. II can only imagine it's on another level in the playoffs.
"It's our job to bring our best foot forward and do the best we can in front of our fans and they obviously want to see wins as much as we do. We're all in this together."
The Knicks were 27-14 at home this season and 34-18 against teams in the east.
However, the Knicks went just 1-3 against the Pistons in the regular season. The defense will have to come to play, as Cade Cunningham averaged over 30 points per game against New York this season.
