Kansas City Chiefs Players Arrested On Marijuana Chargers
It was reported by NFL and ESPN insider Adam Schefter, that two memebrs of the Chiefs line were arrested. Both Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick were charged with a misdemeanor and have since been released.
Chiefs offensive linemen Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick were arrested Thursday night in Johnson County, Kansas, on misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Both were booked into jail and released Friday after posting $2,500 bond.
The team just cannot stay out of the headlines it seems. The team will try to make their third straight run at a Super Bowl, but it seems like some things are beginning to unravel a bit.
It all started with Rashee Rice, who now faces multiple off the field legal issues. Specifically facing eight charges to a high speed street racing crash in Texas, and additionally involved in a shootout. While there is no suspension that has been dealt to the receiver yet, there is almost certainly one to come.
Then Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker made many headlines for his controversial speech that he made at a graduation. He was quoted in his lengthy speech saying:
“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you,” Butker said in his speech. “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”
The Chiefs have been the most dominant team in the NFL for the last half decade, and while they have no plans to stop winning any time soon, their off the field issues may come to bite them this year. This has got to be one of the worst off the field off seasons in recent memory.
