Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has always been a high-profile player because of the greatness with which he plays the tight end position. However, his relationship with popstar Taylor Swift has skyrocketed his fame to a whole new level.
Of course, this has had some incredible benefits for Kelce. His increased notoriety has led to more endorsement deals and to his podcast, “New Heights” (which was already very popular), getting a $100 million contract from Amazon.
It has also, however, come with some negative effects. Kelce had to move out of his home due to the crazed fans that would just show up hoping to catch a glimpse of him and/or Swift. Furthermore, it has led to unfounded rumors and overly critical social media posts regarding his personal life and relationship.
A Fake Contract Was Posted on Social Media that Stated Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Were in a Fake Relationship
Late last week, a false contract was posted online. In the pages of the document, it was alleged that Kelce and Swift have been faking their relationship, that it has all been one massive public relations stunt.
Both the Chiefs tight end and the 14-time Grammy Award winner have denied that contract’s authenticity, with Kelce reportedly being “upset” and “p—ed off” that someone would post such a thing. He also has hired some lawyers to try and track down the creator of the document.
In addition to alleging that the relationship is fake, the contract also listed a breakup date and pre-written statements that both Kelce and Swift would make.
Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Get Called Out by Fans at the US Open
After the Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens 27-20 on Thursday night in the first game of the 2024 NFL season, Kelce and Swift jetted off to Brooklyn, New York to take in the US Open (tennis tournament). They were joined by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany.
During the tournament, the couple was spotted singing and dancing along to the music that was being played.
And apparently some fans had a problem with it:
“Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are pure cringe at the US Open, this looks completely forced and unnatural,” on person wrote on X.
Another posted, “If you can’t see that Taylor is being overly dramatic and making a spectacle of herself, you’re beyond help. No one acts like a 15 yr on her first booze cruise at the US Open. It’s the US Open, not a football game in honky tonk. Maybe she’s just really trash vs class, I dunno.”
“I don’t know why but seeing Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on media being all lovey dovey makes me cringe so bad. Maybe I’m the problem but I just can’t it gives me the ick,” added another fan.
“She’s doing too much. It looks cringe and fake,” said another.
In the end, however, it does not really matter what they or anyone else thinks. Kelce and Swift will continue being themselves whenever and however they see fit. That being said, there will likely always be a group of people that complains, no matter what they do.
