While the relationship between Stefon Diggs and the Buffalo Bills ultimately resulted in the two sides splitting earlier this year, there's no love lost from quarterback Josh Allen. The 28-year-old signal-caller spent four years with Diggs in Buffalo and spoke about his relationship with the wideout on Wednesday, four days ahead of a matchup with the Houston Texans.
“I’ve got a lot of love for [Diggs],” Allen told reporters on Wednesday, via Pro Football Talk. “I still do. The things that he did for me in my career, and the things that he did in a Buffalo Bill uniform won’t be forgotten anytime soon, especially from me.”
Allen had a stellar stretch in his career with Diggs as his top pass-catcher, and the duo specifically thrived during their first three seasons. Over that span, Allen threw for at least 35 touchdowns all three years, while Diggs hauled in a career-best 1,535 receiving yards in his first season and topped double-digit touchdowns in the two following years.
The Bills parted ways with Diggs in a deal that sent him to Houston. They also sent a 2024 sixth-round and 2025 fifth-round selection in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick.
While Diggs surely wants to have a big day against his old team, the Texans offense is loaded with playmakers, specifically pass-catchers, including wideouts Nico Collins and Tank Dell. Diggs has caught 25 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns through four games while also tacking on a rushing score.
