Jordan Mailata accomplished feat he's never achieved in Eagles career

Let's face it: Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata has been the team's best-kept secret over the last five years. Not anymore.

The Top 100 NFL players list, voted on by the players, has released its latest installment, adding new players to the list. For the first time, the Eagles are represented on the list, with Mailata ranked 69th.

"The Eagles offensive tackle played a pivotal role in Philadelphia’s journey to winning a Super Bowl title. Even though he played in just 12 regular-season games, Mailata did his job by protecting Jalen Hurts and creating gaps for Saquon Barkley. He earned his first Super Bowl ring and now makes the Top 100 countdown for the first time in his career.

NFL Pro Insight for Mailata: Jordan Mailata allowed just 1.5 sacks in 2024, tied for the fewest among left tackles with at least 350 pass blocking snaps."

Mailata has been a dominant force on Jalen Hurts' blind side for a long time

It's really about time that Mailata gets the love that he absolutely deserves. Eagles fans love him for his down-to-earth personality and his incredible singing voice. Oh, and he's also arguably the best left tackle in all of football.

Pro Football Focus had Mailata ranked as the top tackle in the NFL. He's also fifth in the best odds to win the new Protector of the Year award entering 2025.

Mailata's story is incredible as he went from being a rugby player to a seventh-round pick of the Eagles in 2018. He didn't reach the field until 2020 when he came in as the left tackle and never lost the job. Mailata has started 69 of 74 games, with last year being the first that he was recognized for any accolades.

Despite missing five games during the season, Mailata still managed to earn a second-team All-Pro selection and got votes for AP Offensive Player of the Year. He was a key contributor to the line to help the Eagles capture their second Super Bowl in franchise history.

The shocking part of Mailata is that he has yet to be named to the Pro Bowl or first-team All-Pro despite everyone saying he's the best left tackle in the NFL. Something has to give going into 2025.

Don't expect that to last too long, as he is on everyone's radar and should start getting more respect coming his way. He has deserved it for a long time and Eagles fans know it better than anyone else.
