Jordan Love can dominate the NFL in 2025 (and one NFL writer knows why)

We all need the offseason to end, because only then will the ridiculous Jordan Love takes go away. There have been many.

Green Bay Packers Mandatory Minicamp

But not from everyone. One writer is fully aware of Love's potential to springboard into stardom this year, having shown the early signs in his first two seasons as the Green Bay Packers' starting quarterback.

Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report broke down why Love could "dominate" this season, noting that he arrival of first-round pick Matthew Golden is exactly what he needs to take his game to the next level.

"The streaky 26-year-old finally has a first-round pick in the receiving corps. Matthew Golden could help Love get over the top in 2025," writes Gagnon.

It's a fair assessment. Love was let down by his receivers far too frequently last season, particularly when it came to just *checks notes* catching the football. Pro Football Focus credited Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks with a combined 19 drops, both ranking inside the top seven for most drops among wide receivers.

Love will welcome Golden's safe hands and ability to make game-changing plays on the outside.

Jordan Love is poised for a breakout season (even if many can't see it yet)

There are no guarantees in the NFL, but Gagnon understands why Love can take his game to new heights this season. Many others seem to have already written off the former first-round pick.

There have been some wild takes, including Caleb Williams already being a better quarterback than Love, to one quarterback ranking having Love behind J.J. McCarthy, who has played zero snaps in the NFL.

Even in a "disappointing second season" as the Packers' QB1, Love still threw for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, good for a 96.7 rating. And that's despite missing two games and leaving three others early due to injury.

Sure, Love needs to find the balance between being aggressive and reckless when throwing into tight coverage. He must continue to limit turnovers, as he did in the second half of last season. But Love also needs his supporting cast to step up, including his receivers and offensive line.

We saw exactly that in the second half of the 2023 season, and Love responded with 2,422 yards, 21 touchdowns, and one interception in a 7-2 stretch that included a 48-32 humiliation of the Dallas Cowboys in his first playoff start.

In that stretch, Love proved he can soar to MVP heights.

The Packers have prioritized building around Love this offseason, spending big in free agency to sign guard Aaron Banks before drafting tackle Anthony Belton in the second round. That helps Love's protection up front.

But the addition of Golden is the big one. He can become Love's top target, allowing the third-year starter to take his game to new heights in 2025.
