Jon Gruden Makes His Opinion on Lamar Jackson Very Clear

In just his seventh season in the NFL, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is already putting together a career that looks Hall of Fame-worthy with two MVPs, three Pro Bowls and two first-team All-Pro selections.

However, his dual-threat play style has also made him a polarizing figure among fans compared to a traditional pocket passer.

Of course, though, that exact play style has him as the player with the second-highest odds to win the MVP again in 2024 at +650, according to ESPN BET.

One person who recently made his opinion on Jackson crystal clear is former NFL head coach Jon Gruden.

"Lamar Jackson is putting together his best body of work that I have seen," he said. "It's really incredible, his statistics, based on any NFL standard that you look at."

"How is he not the MVP?"

Jackson's numbers this season and his ability to lead the Ravens to a 9-5 record coincide with Gruden's statement.

In 14 games, he's completed 275 of 404 passes for 3,580 yards, 34 touchdowns, three interceptions and an NFL-leading 120.7 passer rating.

When you add in his 743 rushing yards and three touchdowns, it's no surprise that he's among the favorites to win MVP.

Even if he does not win the award, he can further the legacy he's already built by potentially winning the Ravens their third Super Bowl in franchise history. Baltimore is currently the No. 5 seed in the playoffs.
