Jets WR Malachi Corley 'Like a Little Kid' on Playing With Aaron Rodgers-nhungn

New York Jets receiver Malachi Corley is living out his NFL dream, and the prospect of playing with Aaron Rodgers is exciting for the rookie.

The New York Jets are putting their rookies through minicamp as the franchise gets its first look at its newest members. One such player is third-round pick Malachi Corley, or the "YAC King," as he's affectionately known.

Coming into the NFL is a dream for every football player, and while some don't realize that dream, others do. For Corley, not only does he have a chance to make an NFL roster, he also has the chance to catch passes from a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Aaron Rodgers.

And that's something that has Corley giddy with excitement.

“I only talked to him on draft night, I've texted him last couple nights, I'm just like a little kid like, he's the adult, he's the MVP Hall of Famer,” Corley told reporters. “So I'm just like a little kid talking to him all the time, texting him, trying to see what he's done to stay consistent in the league. The things that he's done to work on his mental health, how he's kept his body alive so long. So I've had conversations with him. He said I can stay in his guest house if I want to, so yeah me and him we’re close, that's going to be my dog while I'm here, no doubt.”

Corley will hope that Rodgers' season lasts longer than four plays thanks to his Achilles injury in Week 1 last year, which ended the Jets' Super Bowl hopes before they even began.

Now, with Rodgers fully recovered and having no restraints as the Jets' offseason work begins to gather steam, Corley will be looking to soak up every bit of knowledge from his new quarterback and other receivers in the locker room.

With Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams, Allen Lazard, and Xavier Gipson, Corley will be down the pecking order to begin his NFL career.

However, the physical receiver will get his time in the sun during preseason games to show coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett that he belongs as a member of the Jets.

Corley and Rodgers are close, and the pair will look to build on that chemistry this offseason and maybe the "YAC King" could develop into one of A-Rod's favorite weapons in 2024.
